Based on the poem “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe, this epic short is a tale of forbidden love between two young stowaways from opposite sides of the Irish Sea. As the couple run for their lives, they make it as far as a cottage in Devon awaiting rescue to take them to France. However, E and Annabel begin to see signs all is not as it seems. Is this the work of malevolent spirits? Annabel’s dangerous family ties? Or simply the misgivings of traumatised minds?
