Rory MacNeil, a rugged old Scotsman, travels to San Francisco to seek medical treatment. He moves in with his estranged son and his life is transformed by a newly found bond with his baby grandson. Based on the best-selling novel The Etruscan Smile, this moving drama was produced by multi-Oscar-winner Arthur Cohn.
I was hired as London Unit DP to remount parts of the closing scene (below). While the baby’s footage was retained from principal photography, I reshot all of Brian Cox’s angles in order to capture a different performance, including elements of him and the bed which were comped into extant wide shots.
